SOFIA is a social cooperative working in residential care services and community programs to support elderly and their professional and family carers. In the past years Sofia has been partner in several EU (Equal and LLP) and national/local projects aimed at: a) the enhancement of carers’ skills (through training and validation of competences); b) the empowerment of elderly people –often former carers - working as volunteers in community based programs in favour of other, less independent, elderly. ARCO is a private company and was constituted in 1996 by a group of professionals trained and skilled in social sciences and community work. Since then Arco has been working as a consultant, training and community based organization in partnership with groups, not for profit organizations and local authorities. The cooperation between Arco and Sofia allows the project to have an impact on the whole territory of Emilia Romagna and to increase chances to affect regional policies. Read more...
CARERS UK the voice of carers –is a registered charity constituted in November 1965. It is both a campaigning and advocacy organisation, and deliverer of services to end-user carers and professionals working with carers. It provides information through its helpline, Carersline, and through its website. It produces printed materials, and manages a dedicated web forum for carers to enable them to network and offer mutual support. Carers UK has a dedicated training and consultancy service for professionals working with carers and employers, and supports carers to engage with local services and campaigns through its network and training programme. CARE ALLIANCE IRELAND is the national network of Voluntary Organisations supporting Family Carers in Ireland. It was established in 1995 by a number of voluntary organizations which saw the need for an umbrella group to represent family carers’ organizations. The main objective of Care Alliance Ireland is to provide a means for voluntary organizations concerned with the needs of family carers to work together for the development and promotion of policies and strategies to meet such needs. ATHENS ASSOCIATION OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND RELATED DISORDERS is a non-profit organisation founded in 2002 by dementia patients’ relatives, doctors, psychologists and other health professionals interested in Alzheimer’s disease. The Association aims at promoting awareness, care and support for everyone in anyway related to the disease. Among the promoted activities, the association organise patients’ monthly meetings at the Day Care Centre for relatives and caregivers. Read more...
